It’s been an incredible run of Treasuries for my products — this is my fifth one in the last month and a half. I’m really chuffed! This time it’s my Cinnamon Vanilla Sugar Soap (one of my favourite products anyway) in a Treasury that’s named for the di Medici family in Renaissance Italy.

It was put together by Beth of Archeress Arts, a fellow member of the SCA, for the SCA Etsy team. So it’s full of medieval-themed stuff — from custom illuminated scrolls to garb to a beautiful leather sun-and-moon mask.

There’s some really beautiful work in this Treasury, and it has extra meaning for me to be in it, since I know and admire many of the other people involved. So thank you, Beth, and my thanks and gratitude to the entire SCA Etsy team!

I got home from Battlemoor a couple of weeks ago to find that I’d made a sale on my Zazzle account.

…I had a Zazzle account?

I’d entirely forgotten the thing, to be honest. And I haven’t made some huge amount of money on the single poster I’ve sold, either. But it reminded me that maybe I ought to pay some attention to it.

So here is a link to Mortar, the poster I sold. It’s a photograph of Montezuma’s Castle, a Sinagua cliff dwelling in Arizona that I visited February before last.

And, just to be completist, all of my posters. I take some pretty decent pictures, I guess.

I’m going to try to post something from my Zazzle shop every Thursday, I think. Will I remember? Probably not. But its worth a try, eh?

Another Treasury — my work has been very popular recently!

This one’s called Orange Julius Caesar and my Tangerine Vanilla Lip Balm was a natural.

The Creative Cafe is, in the words of founder Jill, a social network where members show off their art, photography, crafts, music, videos and write blogs. Creative Cafe is a charitable group run by volunteers with mental health & other disabilities in Brighton UK. Jill frequently blogs about disability-related issues — and other things like this fun post about making kites.

If you’re a crafter — or are interested in disability issues — or both! — I highly recommend giving the Creative Cafe a try. I’ve made a lot of friends there.

He napped a lot during the days. Well, it was hot and he’s got a fur coat. He pretty much alternated between his little tent and one of the suitcases. You’ve seen him there before so I won’t post a picture.

He did spend some time visiting the neighbors, though — here he is making himself part of the display!

I will note that I wasn’t there — I wouldn’t have let him climb up. But they didn’t mind, so oh well. And he is kinda cute sprawled there.

And then there was Dexter!

Dexter is eight weeks old and destined to be another leash-kitty like Loiosh. Battlemoor was his first event and he did so well! He and Loiosh met and everything went very well.

Dexter was a little cautious — he’s small — but Loiosh was nice so he got brave.

They played for a while but it was hot, so Loiosh kinda lost interest. They’ll get to hang out again at the end of July, though, and I plan to take a lot more pictures then!

I’ve gotten into yet another Etsy Treasury!

This one’s theme is ‘Never Leave Home Without One’ and Anne at Made For Me by Oaklie has chosen a bunch of practical, useful and beautiful items.

There’s a compact mirror with a peacock on it, a coupon organizer that attaches to your grocery cart, and a selection of custom scarves. My Spearmint Lip Balm is in good company!

This is Etherial Fire’s booth — lovely Middle Eastern and dance garb, and also really gorgeous handmade hair falls by Rachel. I’ve become good friends with them over a couple of big events. Also they have a beautiful husky named Angel, though I didn’t get a picture of her. Angel is VERY IN LOVE with Loiosh who does not return her feelings AT ALL.

Round A’s Pottery — beautiful work. I’ve been eyeing his stuff for a while now and finally bought a lovely soap dispenser from him. Sturdy, too — he’s been known to tie a string to a mug and toss it into the middle of the road — the tug it back to lure in customers. The road’s grass, but even so…

Domingo Rose makes simple, sturdy camp furniture — at very affordable prices, too. I had my eye on a set of his shelves last summer at Lilies, and I wish I’d been able to afford them.

Westmarch Forge is practically local to me — I see them at a lot of events. I love their new booth! He’s a blacksmith and metalworker, and she weaves beautiful trim. Here’s a closeup of some of his new stuff:

And of course there are more I didn’t get pictures of — including Briar Rose and Carolina Calicoes, whose proprietors I’ve become good friends with over the last year or so. I’d point to web sites, but I don’t think any of these fine folk sell online, either. Alas! But at least you can see their wares.

So I whipped up a bunch and sent them out — she’s already sending them out with orders, so I’m hoping to see some sales there.

And what does she sell, you ask? Well, since it’s a Friday Feature, I’ll show you! She makes beautiful jewelry:

Battlemoor is a brand new SCA event and I tell you what, I really hope it happens again. I had a blast and made a lot of money and apart from the ridiculous wind, it was a really awesome event.

This is the tent I used — it belongs to a friend. I’ll admit I’m still experimenting to find just the right tent for me. This one goes up pretty easily with only a little help from others, but the steeply sloping ceiling makes it hard to set up merchandise inside.

It really stands up to the winds well, though. And there were 65 MPH gusts two nights, so that was valuable. After some experimenting I got the layout figured out, too.

I didn’t take pictures of the inside — seriously, you guys have seen how I set it up often enough. So here’s a couple pictures of the rest of the event:

I love this pavilion — the heraldry is even more gorgeous in person. It makes a great common area for the camp, though they took it down at night once the wind started. It belongs to the Kingdom of Ansteorra, which comprises Texas and some of Oklahoma.

Another royal pavilion — this one belonging to my home kingdom, the Outlands. Not as elaborately painted, but I love the colours and the shape. It’s got a very welcoming feel to it.

It’s difficult to read here but the gate also belongs to the Kingdom of the Outlands — it’s a neat-looking gate, done in a style I hadn’t seen before. Beyond it are a bunch of canvas pavilions. I really love camping in them — so much more comfortable than nylon.

And this is the Beer Wagon. Yes, there’s a keg hidden in that barrel. Doesn’t that look AWESOME?

And here’s the portable bar to go with it:

This is mounted on a trailer, and got towed onto site Friday night (I think). Or possibly Saturday. It’s an entire bar on wheels. And it looks…SO…good. I love that sort of thing. I’ve considered doing something similar for the shop — pull in, drop the hitch, open the doors, and I’m ready for business. Wouldn’t that be the best thing ever?
